Sam Griner, better known to many as “Success Kid,” was just 11 months old when he pumped his fist in just the perfect way, inspiring millions to celebrate life’s little victories. The pictures were taken on the beach when he was a baby when his mom Laney Griner got a new camera. 12. Sudden Clarity Clarence

It’s the moment a realization hits you…it can be good or bad but either way it’s…whoa. This famous meme originated at a music festival in Australia and was sold to a stock photo site where it later took off in popularity In terms of its star, however, this one remains a bit of a mystery as, according to Know Your Meme, two different people have claimed to be the real Clarity Clarence, neither of them from Australia.

Generally used to express extreme frustration at a situation, Michael McGee, aka “Veins Kid” is now a 21-year-old guy and doesn’t seem all that distressed.  Originally meme-ified under the caption “Trying to hold a fart next to a cute girl in class” the photo started out as McGee, then 16 years old, actually just taking goofy photos with his friends in class. The rest is internet history and McGee says he’s fine with his internet fame though he regrets not copyrighting the image and making money off of it which does sound frustrating.

The stock photo that launched a thousand famous memes about trying to hold it together while you’re dying inside, “Hide The Pain Harold” is actually a 74-year-old Hungarian engineer named András Arató. András Arató has done numerous interviews stating that he’s actually a very happy guys, that’s just how his smile looks. No, really. He’s OK. 

15. My Momma Said

A newer meme that caught fire in 2018, “My Momma Said” features a cute five-year-old girl with her hand on her hip conveying some serious attitude.
