With everything going on in the world, it’s nice to know that there are still people out there having extremely petty fights. Over on r/AmITheA**hole, Redditor u/skyblue847 shared their story of apartment complex drama and it’s a refreshing glimpse back into the problems of yore. Jealous wives.
The OP says that their building is part of a circle of buildings along a track. It is circular and lots of people run and walk around it for exercise, including her. She lives in Florida, so she just jogs in leggings and a sports bra or tank top. This is the beginning of the problem:
This woman always gave me dirty looks when I’d walk by her apartment (she’d be sitting on her porch.) There are a few maintenance guys (not sure if that is the correct title for them – but that is what everyone calls them) that walk and ride around on golf carts throughout the day. I soon realized that the dirty look woman is married to one of the maintenance workers. I am always polite to them, but have never talked to them by any means.
So, yesterday I was working out on the tennis court which is near their apartment. Her and her husband were sitting on the porch. She is giving me the dirtiest looks and is making me pretty uncomfortable but I try to ignore it. Before I leave she says, “Do you like get off on having the maintenance men check you out all day?” To which I replied, “Actually yes it makes me super wet. They are what keeps my sex drive high.” She looked shocked and her husband started laughing and then she smacked him on the arm.
I came back and told my mom this story and she said I should be more sensitive and obviously the woman is insecure. Now I kinda feel bad. AITA?
Hmm, interesting. You know, her mom is right, the woman is insecure and maybe has a strained relationship with her husband. Seeing a beautiful woman in tight clothes running around and jumping up and down in front of him probably triggers all sorts of bad feelings in herself especially if he has ever commented on it.
And that’s really not the OP’s problem. If the jogger lady were coming up to this couple’s window and pressing her naked boobs against the glass, I can see why there’d be a problem, but she is exercising in exercise clothes in the same way many people in her apartment complex do. She’s living her life. Wifey is the one with the problem.

There were one or two people who thought the OP kinda sucked for sexualizing the situation further and should have said something like, “Why do you think your husband’s interest is my responsibility?” but it’s hard to be level headed in the moment when someone is trying to embarrass you about your body. The wife should know that if you don’t start nothing, there won’t be nothing.
